Neydo Hotel · Pharping, Nepal

A Quiet Retreat in the
Pine Hills Above Kathmandu

An idyllic hillside hotel in Pharping, set within the premises as Neydo Tashi Choeling
Monastery, offering guests a peaceful, comfortable stay with rare, easy access to a
living Buddhist community and the sacred sites around it.

Less than an hour from the crowded lanes of Kathmandu, the road climbs onto the southwest corner of the valley, where the Neydo Tashi Choeling Monastery and Neydo Hotel stands amongst pine and terraced hillside. Rooms look out over pine forest or prayer hall, near enough to hear the morning chants at dawn, far enough to remain entirely your own.

Neydo is a hotel first: comfortable rooms, attentive service, and a kitchen that cooks well. What sets it apart is where it stands: guests are welcome to visit the monastery’s prayer halls, or relax amid breathtaking valley views, with the option, never the obligation, to look closer at the spiritual life next door.

A Comfortable Stay, Beside Something Larger

Neydo Hotel doesn’t ask anything of its guests. The monastery next door continues its own rhythm, as it has since 2006. Prayers at dawn, silence through the afternoon, prayers again at dusk, and guests are free to enjoy their stay entirely on their own terms, dipping into that rhythm as much or as little as they like.
