Comfortable Rooms, on the Monastery Grounds

Comfortable, quiet rooms with views over the monastery, or the forested ridge of Hattiban

Neydo Hotel was built on land beside the monastery for a single reason: to give guests a peaceful, comfortable base with a view onto something rare, and to let their stay support it directly. Income from every room goes toward the hotel’s own upkeep and, in turn, helps sustain the monastery and the monks who live next door.

Rooms are unadorned and clean, finished in earth tones with cool tiled floors. Each has a double bed or two singles, a small screened balcony, and a modern private bathroom. South-facing rooms look onto the monastery; north-facing rooms open to the Hattiban forest, the eagles that circle above it, and Bhanjyang village below.

Rooms

Each room is simple and personal rather than uniform. Expect a comfortable bed with fresh linen, a private bathroom with a shower, and a small balcony screened against insects — nothing more than is needed, nothing less than is expected.

Dining

A Table Kept Simple, and Vegetarian
Vegetarian dishes, prepared with produce gathered from the villages around the monastery.

The kitchen at Neydo serves vegetarian food only, in keeping with the values of the monastery it stands beside. There is no meat on the table here, only what the surrounding hills provide.

Vegetables, grains, and greens are sourced from the villages folded into the hillsides nearby, bought fresh and in season rather than held in store. What arrives at the table depends, in part, on what the land around Neydo has to give that week.

Meals are plain, unhurried, and often taken quietly – at times alongside the monks themselves, in a dining room built for stillness rather than spectacle.

Hours: 6 AM to 8 PM

To Note
In keeping with the rhythm of the monastery, no alcoholic beverages are served on the property.
